I am curious. If you have any runner friends who compete, ask them if they know the term. It’s a common form of speed workout here in the US. Rather than the strict repetition of intervals at set times, it gives the runner the freedom to speed up and slow down as the body desires.
I do not know any runners, but if I meet someone I can ask the question.
I have heard there are some who farts engender speed – like jet engines … [grin]
Well that’s good to know (fart means speed in English). Pretty sure I’m going to slip that into a conversation somehow. 🙂
🙂 I have now changed language on this Garmin GPS

Ah, US runners have fartlek. Is that a Swedish term?
I´ve never heard the word before but I checked Wikipedia:
“Swedish coach Gösta Holmér developed fartlek in 1937”.
Translated to english as SpeedPlay
