You must be in the land of the Midnight Sun if you have permafrost where you’re at, must be a long ways North I thought you probably were, that is beautiful country. There is a lot of study going on with the loss of permafrost and global warming, what to believe, many different theories.
We have not permafrost down here.. 🙂
There are some bogs in northern Minnesota they are cranberryy and what you could almost call pete bogs. My mother’s, mother and her people were from Sweden. Ruskola,Overtornea, her father was Kalle Vayrynen from Finland.

My fathers mother was a proud Sami, his dad’s people were from Kaafjord, Norway.
